Meet Trisha Hansen D.M.D.

Dr. Trisha Hansen grew up in Fallon, Nevada and values the sense of community that comes from a small town. She graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno with a bachelor’s degree in biology and completed her DMD (doctor of dental medicine) at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. While in dental school she had the opportunity to complete a periodontal surgery and knew immediately that was what she wanted to do all the time. Dr. Hansen then received her certificate in periodontics from the Medical College of Georgia (currently Augusta University). While there she was able to work at the Charlie Norwood VA hospital and values the knowledge she gained from working with such a diverse and often medically complex patient population.

While in dental school she was inducted into the Psi Omega Dental Fraternity and was awarded 1st place in the Clinical Research Category of the Billy Pennel Competition. She has published an article in the journal Implant Dentistry. She has been recognized by her peers as a leader in her specialty and is dedicated to providing the highest standard of care to her patients.

Dr. Hansen is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, a Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, and a Fellow in the International College of Dentists. She is one of only three female periodontists in the state of Nevada to be Board certified.

She is a professional member of the following organizations: American Dental Association, American Academy of Periodontology, American Board of Periodontology, International Congress of Oral Implantologists, International College of Dentists, and the Northern Nevada Dental Association.

She practiced in a private periodontal office for nine years in Colorado and Wyoming, owning the Wyoming practice for the last five years. She is thrilled to come back to Nevada to be part of Dr. Robinson’s periodontal team and to be closer to family. One of her biggest joys is establishing long-term relationships with her patients and helping them achieve their oral health goals. She is committed to providing empathetic, collaborative care. She has often been told by patients and colleagues that being a periodontist is “her calling” and she would enthusiastically agree.

When not treating patients, Dr. Hansen enjoys exploring the Nevada outdoors with her husband Bart and their two spoiled dogs, Rory and Sadie. She loves running, biking, hiking, camping, and skiing. She loves to travel (stateside and abroad) as much as possible and being charitable with her time. She has been involved as a mentor with Partners Mentoring Youth and as a volunteer driver for Meals on Wheels.

She began silversmithing as a hobby in 2021 with her husband and appreciates the art that goes into crafting heirloom quality pieces of jewelry. She is carrying on a tradition that was started by her dad, uncle and grandfather 50+ years ago. Many of her designs are created with turquoise found in Nevada and she can typically be seen wearing pieces that she and her husband hand-made.
